Grandma's Collection of Stories and Poems

This is a story of a grandma’s love for her grandchild. The story started many long months before that child was born.   It began when Grandma found out that her new grand- baby would be joining her family. It was one of the happiest days in Grandma’s life! That night, Grandma dreamed of  what her grandchild would look like.

                                                     Brown Eyes or Blue?

Baby boy with the dark brown eyes

How much I love you could fill the skies

Because you are a blessing that I recognize.

Or will your eyes be the color of the sea

Blue as the sunny sky above me

With a sparkle like a shiny gold key.

Will your hair be as yellow as a daffodil in spring

That calls to the honey bee with his small painful sting                                                Flying straight to the flower on his tiny little wings?

Or will it be as black as the crow

And shines in the sun with a bright diamond glow

And will it be short or long as a rivers flow?

Will you be a rough and tough little boy

Or will you be gentle and sweet, a bit coy

As I watch you play on the floor with your toy?

Maybe a little bit of both would be good

Because boys can be rowdy, yet act as they should

And make Mommy and Daddy happy when they could.

It does not matter, the color of your eyes

For they will be beautiful filled with surprise

At how much you are loved, because you are a prize.

It does not matter the color of your hair

Or if it is as rough as a big grizzly bear

Because we love it, and you, too, far beyond compare.

Pieces of Me

ASIN #B00PHMW7NO

This is a compilation of many of the poems published in my previous works, but it is so much more. Pieces of Me is a brief history of the reasons why I write. There is a little bit of every aspect of my life found within these pages. The past follows me as if it is a secret, hiding amongst the shadows...the present haunts me as though it is long dead...and the future is only what I have the strength and fortitude to shape it into. I am riding an emotional roller-coaster.

And Yet, I Dreamed

ASIN: B00O51VAUE

Heartfelt poetry. Sometimes life is joyful, but frequently changes...back and forth, creating a title-wave of emotions.

Looking Forward, Looking Back

ASIN: B00NFB6AJ6

I take a look back to my childhood, at what memories still remain with me, then, skip forward a few long years to the present day when I try to realise my hopes and dreams. Then suddenly, my thoughts skip forward to the future in which I might be happy. The future in which my family and loved ones are healthy and happy...and so am I.

Happy is the grandmother who can watch her childrens children grow into beautiful adults.
Happy is the grandmother who can hear their laughter echo in the valley's and in the hills.
Happy is the grandmother who can hold those dear little ones in her arms.
Happy is the grandmother, too, who can remember the details of her own children growing into the parents that she wishes she had been.
This poetry is a touch of the authors past, well, at least the special events that she can still recall.

Fractured Thoughts and Scattered Pieces

ASIN: B00MYS1IMU

Thoughts seem to skitter everywhere...here one moment and there the next. Sometimes those little bits of memory and pieces of ideas get lost and never found again, yet others come crashing back to you at strange and mysterious times. These poems tell of some of those thoughts and ideas, even if in a somewhat elusive and flitting manner. You can gather the pieces and attempt to put them in some sort of meaningful or perhaps even nonsensical manner as you read through. It might happen that one of your own memories or thoughts surprisingly rises to the surface. Perhaps it will be one that you have been searching for, but could not find.
